I dare you to move!

We get it, you are busy, so are the rest of us. So quit the excuses and get out of bed! Excuses are for losers and they won't get you to that size 4 you are dreaming about, or get rid of fatigue, brain fog, bad sleep, or clear skin we long for. So set that alarm and start moving.

Strive for 3 to 5 times a week. You need at least 2 strength training days, aim for 3, and at least 2 cardio days! Then don't forget to stretch. Strive for at least 1 yoga class a week.

My Workout Schedule:

Monday - Spin class

Tuesday - Hit interval Weight class

Wednesday - Strength train

Thursday - Combination of HIT & Strength training

Friday - Cardio - Swim

Saturday - Gentle Yoga (I count this as a rest day)

Sunday - Rest

Need a program? - Contact me here for an Equinox Personal trainer or a detailed weight training program - email

Fitness in Moderation

Remember you are not Superman or Superwoman. Key is to listen to your body. If you are detoxing, aim for brisk walking and yoga, or light weights.

If you are complaining that you are not losing weight and you are a cardio junky then time to re-think your workouts!

Get off that cardio machine and lift more! Every pound of muscle burns an extra 50 calories a day. Therefore if you can replace 10 pounds of fat with 10 pounds of lean muscle then you will burn an extra 500 calories a day sitting at your desk. Amazing right? Which means we can have rest days and still burn calories because we have our muscle working for us, which is great when life and work happens and you just have no control  and can't make it to the gym. Don't worry your body knows what to do.

In addition, a majority of you are stuck doing the same thing over and over again in the gym. You basically walk in and grab whatever weights are available or take the same classes over and over again. Time to cut that. Time for a real program. We are not meant to sit at a desk all day, so time to workout smart for tomorrow and focus on functional movements. Not just burning calories. Movements that will prevent injury and improve the longevity of your joints. I dare you to come to Equinox for a day - Click here for an Equinox Trial in any city - Equinox Trial pass
